PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jimmy Rollins gave the Philadelphia Phillies some momentum going into the team's biggest series of the season. The shortstop had four hits, including a game-winning RBI single in a rain-soaked bottom of the 10th inning and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-7 on Thursday night.
Chase Utley hit a pair of two-run homers for the Phillies, who pulled within three games of NL East-leading New York. The Mets come to Philadelphia for a four-game series starting with Friday's day-night doubleheader.
"It's a big win for us," Rollins said. "A lot of things tend to carry over from series to series. Hopefully, we can carry this momentum against the Mets."
