CHICAGO (AP) - Opposing scouts are descending on the White Sox like planes at O'Hare, so Javier Vazquez realizes his time in Chicago could be winding down. He's either going out in style or making a strong pitch to stay.
Vazquez threw his 21st career complete game and Jim Thome hit a three-run homer to lift the Chicago White Sox to a 5-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.
The White Sox won for the seventh time in nine games, and rebounded from a meltdown by their bullpen the previous night in a 7-6 loss.
