NEW YORK (AP) - Alex Rodriguez missed his first game of the season Thursday and an MRI exam on his strained left hamstring came back normal. Rodriguez sat out of the New York Yankees' 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins, but manager Joe Torre said he could be back in the lineup Friday against the Los Angeles Angels.
"That's what I'm assuming is going to happen," Torre said.
Rodriguez tripped over Twins first baseman Justin Morneau's ankle Monday night while beating out a potential double play. The All-Star third baseman advanced to second before leaving the game.
