 OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Nick Swisher and Bobby Crosby hit home runs to help the Oakland Athletics win for the fourth time in six games, a 3-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Thursday night.
Chad Gaudin (8-3) continued his surprising season, allowing eight hits over 7 2-3 innings. The eight wins match his career total entering the season. He walked four and struck out three. Santiago Casilla got the final out of the eighth and Alan Embree pitched the ninth for his ninth save in 11 opportunities.
Jose Guillen had three hits and drove in a run against his former team as the Mariners dropped to 1-3 under new manager John McLaren, who took over from Mike Hargrove on Monday.
