NEW YORK (AP) - Alex Rodriguez returned to the starting lineup for the New York Yankees on Friday night, though his status for next week's All-Star game remained uncertain.
Rodriguez missed his first game of the season Thursday because of a strained left hamstring. An MRI exam came back normal.
Rodriguez made two nice plays at third base in the top of the second inning against the Los Angeles Angels, then broke a season-worst 0-for-19 slump by doubling to lead off the bottom half. He leads the majors with 28 home runs and 80 RBIs.
