SRINAGAR, India (AP) - Protesters clashed with police in the main city in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Saturday after a teenager was killed when police fired on a crowd protesting alleged human rights abuses, officials said.
Police used bamboo batons to subdue hundreds of rock-throwing protesters scattered around downtown Srinagar, said Farooq Ahmed, a top police officer in Srinagar. Four policemen were injured.
On Friday, a 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in a clash between security forces and protesters who emerged from a mosque chanting anti-Indian slogans and throwing rocks.
