SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Samsung Electronics Co. said Monday that it has agreed to a cross-licensing agreement on patents with Sweden's LM Ericsson in wireless communications technology.
The agreement allows the two companies to use each other's patents covering second-generation and third-generation wireless technology, Samsung said in a filing with South Korea's financial regulator.
Samsung, based in Suwon, South Korea, is the world's third-largest producer of mobile phones. Stockholm-based Ericsson is the world's largest wireless network maker.
