BEIJING (AP) - Another 26 people accused of using slave labor at brick kilns went on trial Wednesday in the latest case stemming from a scandal that has captivated China, state media reported.
The defendants were being tried in four courts in the northern province of Shanxi on charges of "forcing laborers to work for them in unspeakable conditions," the Xinhua News Agency said. It said four were accused of intentionally injuring workers.
The state news agency offered few details, naming only one defendant, Yang Xiaohong. There was no word on what penalties the defendants might face if convicted.
