 SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Lindsay Whalen had 22 points and eight assists and Connecticut outlasted Sacramento 82-78 in overtime Thursday night.
Whalen hit a layup with 2.8 seconds left in regulation to force the extra period, and the Sun (9-11) finished off a four-game Western road swing with their third straight win.
Nykesha Sales topped all scorers with 23 for Connecticut. The Sun played without Asjha Jones, who wasn't with the team because of a family emergency. Jones, who is averaging 15.9 points and 6.6 rebounds, may also miss Sunday's All-Star game.
