BALTIMORE (AP) - They were down by three runs before coming to bat for the first time. They trailed by four runs in the sixth inning, and needed two runs in the ninth against All-Star closer Bobby Jenks.
Throw in the fact that Baltimore was 1-43 when trailing after eight innings, and there seemed to be no way the Orioles were going to beat the Chicago White Sox.
And yet, they did.
