LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar fell against most major currencies in European trading Monday. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.3773, down from $1.3789 late Friday. The euro hit a record high of $1.3813 on Friday and traded as high as $1.3803 on Monday. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3781.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Friday, included 121.96 Japanese yen, down from 122.03; 1.2029 Swiss francs, down from 1.2022; and 1.0424 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0476.
