ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Ty Wigginton went 4-for-4 for the second straight game to tie a Tampa Bay record with eight consecutive hits and help the struggling Devil Rays beat the Los Angeles Angels 8-3 on Tuesday night.
Wigginton, who had four hits during a loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday, drove in one run with a fifth-inning single off Ervin Santana (5-11) and another with a single off Chris Bootcheck in the seventh.
Aubrey Huff had eight straight hits for the Devil Rays from Sept. 22-24, 2004.
