 CHICAGO (AP) - With Barry Bonds resting for much of the night, Barry Zito finally did his part.
Dave Roberts drew a bases-loaded walk to force in the go-ahead run two batters after Bonds lined out as a pinch-hitter, Zito won for the first time in seven starts and the Giants snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night.
Bonds the pinch-hitter came to the plate in a situation when many a manager typically would have chosen to walk him.
