LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was lower against other currencies in European trading Friday. Gold prices rose.
The euro traded at $1.3836, up from $1.3803 late Thursday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3826.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Thursday, included 121.13 Japanese yen, down from 122.06; 1.1991 Swiss francs, down from 1.2032; and 1.0423 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0431.
