BEIJING (AP) - A Chinese dissident on trial for subversion and running an illegal business confessed under torture, his lawyer said.
The lawyer's statement, seen by The Associated Press on Friday, said Guo Feixiong had confessed after being questioned for nearly two weeks.
Guo, a lawyer also known as Yang Maodong, was arrested last September in the country's southern business center of Guangzhou, press freedom group Reporters Without Borders said at the time.
