 MASON, Ohio (AP) - Anna Chakvetadze won the Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open with a 6-1, 6-3 win against Akiko Morigami on Sunday. Chakvetadze, who won her third title this year, improved to 5-0 in WTA Tour championship matches.
"I didn't think it would be that easy," said Chakvetadze, the WTA's eighth-ranked player. "I don't think Akiko played really well. I think she was tired."
"I don't think I was tired," said the seventh-seeded Morigami, who spent almost 1 1/2 hours longer on the court than Chakvetadze during the tournament. "I just wasn't executing shots. I was disappointed to play the final like that."
