PARIS (AP) - France's first lady was in Libya on Monday for a second day of secretive talks to try to secure the repatriation of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor imprisoned for allegedly infecting Libyan children with the AIDS virus.
Cecilia Sarkozy, the wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, arrived in Tripoli on Sunday at the head of a delegation including the European Union commissioner for foreign affairs, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, and chief French presidential aide Claude Gueant.
French officials described her visit as a humanitarian mission. But the trip has been shrouded in secrecy and Libyan and French officials have offered few details about it.
