LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar continued its slide against the euro and British pound Tuesday and was also down against other major currencies in European trading. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.3830, up from $1.3802 late Monday in New York. The 13-nation currency reached an all-time high of $1.3846 on Monday. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3821.
The British pound traded at $2.0628, up from $2.0579. Earlier in the day, the pound rose as high as $2.0655, its highest level since 1981.
