PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria (AP) - Gunmen wounded a British professor and a security guard in oil-rich southern Nigeria on Wednesday, a day after a Nigerian oil worker was killed.
Michael Watts, a University of California, Berkeley, professor, said he was attacked by at least half a dozen gunmen who stormed the National Point newspaper.
Watts, who was attending an awards ceremony at the paper, was taken to a hospital along with the guard after the shooting in Port Harcourt in Rivers State.
