CINCINNATI (AP) - The Milwaukee Brewers activated outfielder Bill Hall off the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, convinced that he had fully recovered from a severe ankle sprain three weeks earlier.
The Brewers optioned Tony Gwynn Jr. to Triple-A Nashville. He was called up on July 6 to fill in while Hall recovered from his injury. Gwynn hit .200 in 10 games, including eight starts in center field, during his second stint with the Brewers this season.
Hall severely sprained his right ankle while leaping to try to catch Ryan Doumit's solo home run in Pittsburgh. Hall hurt the ankle on his awkward landing, and the team initially feared he could be lost for a month.
