ACCRA, Ghana (AP) - Two teenage British girls accused of smuggling $600,000 worth of cocaine pleaded not guilty Thursday and their trial in Ghana was adjourned until Aug. 2, officials said.
The pair, both 16-year-old students from London, were detained July 2 at Accra's international airport as they prepared to return to Britain. Customs officials discovered the cocaine hidden in laptop cases.
The two girls entered the courtroom with their faces covered with cloths to shield them from photographers and cameramen.
