LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was higher against most other major currencies in European trading Wednesday. Gold prices fell.
The euro traded at $1.3477, down from $1.3576 late Tuesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3481.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 117.17 Japanese yen, down from 118.07; 1.2177 Swiss francs, up from 1.2097; and 1.0762 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0644.
