LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday. Gold rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.3645, up from $1.3616 late Tuesday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.3651.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 115.24 Japanese yen, down from 116.21; 1.2054 Swiss francs, down from 1.2111; and 1.0523 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0489.
