BEIJING (AP) - China reported Tuesday that it had delivered a shipment of heavy fuel oil to North Korea as part of an international effort to keep negotiations on dismantling North Korean nuclear programs on track, but said no date had been agreed on for the next round of talks.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said a ship carrying an unspecified amount of oil arrived in the North Korean port of Nampo on Sunday, the first shipment out of a total of 50,000 tons that China has pledged to deliver to the North.
"The shipments are ongoing," Jiang said at a regular media briefing. "I think the shipping plan is under way and can be completed soon."
