 ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Jarrod Washburn held his former teammates in check and the Seattle Mariners beat Los Angeles 6-0 on Friday night to deny the Angels the AL West crown for at least another day.
Adrian Beltre had three hits and drove in two runs, Jose Vidro had a two-run single, and Jose Guillen hit a solo homer for the Mariners.
The Angels get two more chances to clinch the division title against the second-place Mariners, with the four-game series continuing over the weekend. Los Angeles' lead over Seattle is 8 1/2 games.
