BEIJING (AP) - Leading members of China's Communist Party met on Tuesday as part of final preparations for a twice-a-decade congress that will see president and party chief Hu Jintao entrench his power with new appointments.
The meeting of the party's roughly 350 Central Committee members and their alternates is expected to approve a final draft of a guiding document to be adopted at next week's congress.
No details of the meeting were immediately available. Such meetings are held in secret and news about them is released only after they end.
