RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Marc-Andre Bergeron had two goals and an assist, and the New York Islanders scored three goals in a 3:39 stretch of their 4-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night.
Bill Guerin and Ruslan Fedotenko also scored and Mike Comrie added two assists for the Islanders, who entered tied with Phoenix for the fewest goals in the league with just 90 but scored all four goals in the second period three on the power play.
New York scored at least four goals for the fourth time in six games after at one point this season going 22 straight without scoring more than three.
