NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania (AP) - Four men have been charged with abetting terrorists after four French tourists were gunned down on a roadside last month, justice officials said Sunday.
Four of the eight suspects who appeared in a Mauritanian court Sunday were charged with "furnishing logistical support to the perpetrators of a terrorist act," Judge Ahmed Ould Abdallahi said.
The four include Moustapha Ould Abdel Kader, who Mauritania's secret service says belongs to an Algerian-based terror network affiliated with al-Qaida. The government has blamed the group for the killings.
