 SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - Australians mourned the death of actor Heath Ledger, describing him Wednesday as one of the country's brightest stars.
The Australian-born Ledger was found dead at a Manhattan apartment Tuesday. New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said the actor was discovered naked with sleeping pills nearby, but there was no obvious indication he had committed suicide.
Actress Nicole Kidman, a fellow Australian, called Ledger's death a "terrible tragedy."
