SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - North Korea on Monday accused a U.S. official tasked with monitoring human rights in the communist country with interfering in negotiations on its nuclear disarmament.
Earlier this month, Jay Lefkowitz, President Bush's envoy on North Korean human rights, said the North was not serious about disarming and would probably still have nuclear weapons when the next U.S. president takes over in early 2009.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice quickly rebuked Lefkowitz, saying his remarks did not represent U.S. policy.
