COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) - Crew members on a tugboat seized by pirates off the Somali coast are unharmed and have access to food and water, the ship's Danish owner said Wednesday.
Four Russians, a Briton and an Irishman were on the Svitzer Korsakov when pirates raided the ship Friday off the coast of Puntland, a semiautonomous region in northeast Somalia, according to Copenhagen-based shipping company Svitzer.
Svitzer officials were in contact with the ship and had been told by the British captain "that the crew is unharmed and that food and water supply is sufficient," the company said in a statement.
