BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) - Colombian military intelligence knows where leftist rebels are holding four hostages that they have promised to release, the government said Thursday.
Reading from a statement, Defense Minister Juan Manuel Santos said officials have "known for some time" that hostages Gloria Polanco, Orlando Beltran Cuellar, Luis Eladio Perez and Jorge Gechem are being held in the same area where two other hostages were released last month.
It was never confirmed where the two hostage were released, but inhabitants of the southern guerrilla stronghold of Guaviare province said it occurred in their region.
