BERLIN (AP) - Stuttgart prosecutors said Friday they launched an investigation into several former managers of Daimler's bus unit on suspicion of corruption involving bribes to foreign officials.
Some "five to 10" people who previously served as managers for Daimler's bus division are involved in the probe for suspected breach of trust as well as alleged involvement in bribing foreign officials, said Bettina Vetter, a spokeswoman for Stuttgart prosecutors.
Daimler spokeswoman Ursula Mertzig-Stein said the automaker had alerted prosecutors to the case and is cooperating fully.
