LOS ANGELES (AP) - Rookie Al Thornton scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter and the Los Angeles Clippers shocked the surging Utah Jazz 114-104 on Friday night, giving themselves back-to-back wins for the first time in 3 1/2 months.
It was the 14th attempt by the Clippers to record consecutive victories since starting out 4-0. Corey Maggette also had 27 points and Chris Kaman added 14 points and nine rebounds in front of the Clippers' second sellout crowd of the season.
Deron Williams had 26 points and 10 assists for the Northwest Division-leading Jazz, who squandered a chance to increase their 1 1/2 game lead over Denver following the Nuggets' 135-121 loss at Chicago. All-Star forward Carlos Boozer had 22 points and 10 rebounds.
