Mechanics, US Airways Agree on Contract

PHOENIX (AP) - The mechanics union at US Airways agreed to a contract with the airline on Wednesday that includes pensions and 10 percent raises in the first year.

The contract still must be ratified by the airline's 3,300 International Association of Machinists members.

"After two bankruptcies at US Airways and more than two years of negotiations after the merger, employees are finally seeing something positive," union spokesman Joseph Tiberi said.
