TUXTLA GUTIERREZ, Mexico (AP) - A moderate earthquake shook southern Mexico on Thursday, without immediate reports of significant damage or injuries.
The 5.7-magnitude quake struck at 5:01 p.m. local time and was centered offshore, 48 miles southwest of the city of Mapastepec in Chiapas state, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
A second, 4.7-magnitude quake hit the same area about 14 minutes later.
