BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Myanmar dissidents urged voters Friday to reject a military-drafted constitution that will be presented to them in an upcoming referendum.
A statement from The 88 Generation Students said the May referendum would be a "sham" and described the draft constitution as a document that would only perpetuate military domination of the country.
"People who are eligible to vote should go to polling stations and put `No' votes in the ballot boxes. You do not need to be afraid. The authorities have no right to arrest you for voting against this constitution," the statement said.
