JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) - Police say a small, private airplane has crashed into a residential area in the outskirts of the Indonesian capital, killing the pilot.
The lightweight recreational plane developed engine trouble while on a training flight and slammed into three houses, said local police Capt. Sudaryo, who like many Indonesians goes by a single name. No one else was hurt.
Aviation safety authorities were investigating the cause of the accident, he said, adding that the 60-year-old pilot died instantly.
