JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Republican Party says it will not keep contributions from high-profile attorney Richard "Dickie" Scruggs.
Scruggs faces up to five years in prison after pleading guilty Friday to a federal charge of conspiring to bribe a state judge.
Mississippi GOP chairman Jim Herring said Monday that Scruggs had donated $27,250 to the state party from 2002 to 2004. Herring said the GOP will give that money to Boys and Girls Clubs around the state.
