I-95 in Philadelphia to Close for Days

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Part of a major northeast corridor will be closed for at least two days in Philadelphia because of a 4-foot crack in a concrete support pillar.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesman Gene Blaum said repairs to the crack will require closing a short section of the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 95. The crack is 2 inches wide and 4 feet long.

Blaum said the section of the interstate carries about 190,000 vehicles a day.
