CHICAGO (AP) - Luol Deng scored 20 points, and Drew Gooden had 19 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday night as the Chicago Bulls built a big halftime lead, survived a sluggish third quarter and pulled away for a 112-96 victory over the New Jersey Nets.
New Jersey whittled a 24-point halftime deficit to nine early in the fourth quarter, but the Bulls didn't falter. In its previous two games, Chicago squandered final-period leads and lost to the 76ers and Hornets.
With the lead slipping this time, Ben Gordon hit a jumper and Kirk Hinrich sank a 3-pointer from the corner to start an 15-2 run that gave Chicago a 94-72 lead.
