WASHINGTON (AP) - President Mikhail Saakashvili of the Republic of Georgia is looking for a boost to his country's aspirations for NATO membership when he meets with President Bush.
The two leaders also are likely to discuss on Georgia's tensions with Russia over the possibility of NATO membership and Russia's support of two breakaway Georgian regions.
Bush, who has been a strong advocate of Georgia's NATO hopes, may not be able offer more than encouragement to Saakashvili in their White House meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
