TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Toledo has hired Notre Dame assistant Gene Cross to become its new men's basketball coach.
Cross will replace Stan Joplin, fired last month after 12 seasons without an NCAA tournament appearance.
The 36-year-old Cross played at Illinois and also has coached at Virginia, DePaul and Illinois-Chicago.
